John B. Goodenough is the inventor of RAM as well as the Lithium-ion Battery, and he recently was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. There is evidence to suggest that he and some of his team members have come up with a new generation of battery, which might involve a brand new solid-state battery that could charge a Tesla faster than the time it would take to fill up an internal combustion engine with gasoline. It has also been put forth that this new battery architecture would not suffer from charging degradation.
When recently notified he was the winner of the 2019 Nobel Prize John said:
"We are working on how to develop a polymer which has an immobilized liquid in it so it conducts lithium or sodium as fast as in the liquid, and the liquid is immobilized so it is like a solid state material."
"Climate change is coming from the burning of fossil fuels—of course. That is known, and we also know that is not a sustainable option. I think the lithium-ion battery people are trying very hard with the lithium-ion battery to do electric cars. It always was a problem because you cannot charge them too fast or you plate lithium on the carbon and then you have all the problems with dendrites and fires. But, we need electric cars. We need to find a way to emancipate ourselves from our dependence upon the burning of fossil fuels. Our people are working in that direction and they'll get there. —John B. Goodenough
According to Electrek, Elon Musk confirmed the CyberTruck will be able to care 4x8 sheets of plywood and other material in its 6.5 foot bed, with an optional FlipStop on the tailgate as seen below in the render from KnowYouKnow:
There has been a great deal of speculation regarding if Tesla will expand their lineup of cars that incorporate the CyberTruck design language, and below we see a couple of really cool renders that might shed light on this amazing opportunity.
The two amazingly insightful video from Jack Rickard below are mind-boggling detailed and I highly recommend watching both of them if you want to gain deep insight into the CyberTruck technology.
My name is Jake, and I started Jake's Tesla World as an online magazine which is a superb resource for all things Tesla. In my opinion as a designer, the Tesla Model S is not only the best car ever made, but a true gateway to the future of clean and safe transportation.
I'll never forget an evening back in early November of 2011, when I saw a movie named, "The Revenge Of The Electric Car", which showcased the plight of Elon Musk, and Tesla Motors. The movie blew my mind, and made me really excited about the potential promise of electric vehicles.
Tesla design is so timeless, as is it's story, so the when you spend time on Jake's Tesla World, since everything is in reverse chronological order, you can literally go back in time, and see exactly how everything evolved.
When I see or experience something that blows my mind, like the TESLA Model S, I want to learn absolutely everything I can about it. My goal with Jake's Tesla World is to share everything with you that I have learned about TESLA, as well as everything you would ever want to know or understand about Tesla, and obviously every detail is absolutely fascinating!!!
I hope you enjoy exploring Jake's Tesla World as much as I enjoy putting it together.
